Family Micro-Grant Opportunity

Indiana Hands & Voices is dedicated to supporting families of Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) children without a bias around communication modes or methodology. Our advocacy efforts are focused on supporting families and communities in this work. For this purpose, we have created an opportunity to assist families with micro-grants of up to $300 to help offset the costs of activities, classes, resources, or equipment that will help enable D/HH children in our state to reach their highest potential.

Examples of qualifying expenses include, but are not limited to:

  • Indiana D/HH summer camp fees

  • ASL classes

  • Tangible D/HH medical equipment (hearing aids, home FM system, ear-molds, device batteries, repairs, etc.)

  • Home equipment for D/HH (strobe light alarm/alternate D/HH smoke detector, bed-shaker alarm clock, etc.)

  • Books (for education or representation) pertaining to communication and hearing loss for personal family use and or to donate to your child’s school library

Application Criteria and Notes

  1. Family Micro-Grants are only available to current Indiana families of D/HH children aged 0-22 (ages 5 and up must be enrolled in school).
